Consequent on Queensland retrenchment for somo time involving the abolition of the weather bureau, the Federal Government are considering the taking over of tho State Meteorological Bureau, or replacing the Federal Bureau in New South Wales. Stock-owners have petitioned the Federal Premier against allowing disbandment of a department so valuable to the pastoral, commercial, and shipping interests, which would be a calamity.
