Dunedin, last night.

Tenders were opened to-night by the City Council for a 4 per cent, tramway loan of £50,000. Tenders were received for £87,000. The loan realised an average of £IOO 3s 2d.

Major Parks’ salary was fixed at £4OO. The Mayor stated, in the course of a speech, that the capital value of the assets of the city amounted to £906,553, and the gross receipts from all sources to £134,000 per annum. The corporation had saved £SBOO in interest within the past fivo years by a partial reduction of loans, and securing the Balance at 4 per cent, instead of six or seven.
