(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, last night. Government have decided to bring down legislation nest session for tne purpose of validating expenditure up to a certain amount by local author.ties on the Coronation celebrations. It has been found that to import some classes of game which the Acclimatisation Societies were recent./ asked to assist in introducing worn, cost ,£sooo—an amount far in excess of the sum available. The Govern ment has now decided that of the an - nuls suggested for importation the most suitable that could at present be acquired, would be moose, wapic., duck, wild geese. Steps are now being taken to ascertain whether Societies are prepared- to assist in import ing these classes of game. John Wright, concerning whom two juries disagreed, to-day was remanded until next session on a charge of the theft of £145 at Masterton..
A meeting of clergymen and Sunday school teachers resolved to hold a united service in the Basin Reserve on Coronation Day, and give a treaj to school children.
