CONCERT AT ORMOND.

The social and concert given at Ormond on Thursday night, by the children of the Convent School, in aid of the Catholic School at Ormond was an undoubted success considering the inclemency of the weather. The children carried out their pa

■rt in such a way as to elicit the warmest applause. The following excellent programme was given : Ia Chorus, “ Watching for Pa," pupils ; recitation, “ Only a Boy,” Master Emmett Sullivan ; pianoforte solo, “ Salopia,” Miss May Neenan ; chorus, “ Goodnight,” infants ; pianoforte trio, “Martha,” Misses M. Neenan, L. Law, and K. Benson ; chorus, “Japanese Fan,” pupils; vocal solo, “ Kissing Papa Through the Telephono,” Miss Linda Law ; chorus, “ Mill May,” pupils. The pretty cantata, “ The White Garland,” was given in a way that charmed the audience, the dramatis person® being ; —Queen, Miss Eileen Law ; Tardy Scholar, Master Walter Harper ; Quarrelsome Scholar, Master Athela Farmer 1 Selfish Scholar, Master Dan Neenan ; Generosity, Miss Maggie Blain; Perseverance, Miss Alice Parsons ; Punctuality, Miss Kittie Benson ; Three Scholars, Misses May Neenan, Nellio Cassidy, and Martha Parsons. ‘The children acquitted themselves in an admirable way, their woik giving evidence of natural ability brought out by careful training. The sooial proved very enjoyable. A sumptuous supper was provided by the ladies, to which ample justice was done.

Special thanks is due to Miss Neill, who kindly rendered the music for the dancing, and to Mrs Neenan, who spent so much time and labor on the-decoration of the hall, which looked its best.
