GISBORNE POULTRY FANCIERS' CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Club was held last night, thore boing present: — Messrs H. M. Porter (President), Pasley, W. Fraser, M. Hall, G. R. Moore, W. J.’ Greene, G. Humphreys, P. Schwabe, Gault, Newton, W. Ranger (Secretary).
1 It was explained 'that during tho year bad beon paid off the pen fund. The balance-sheet was considered very satisfactory ; it was the be°t result the club had over had. The membcrshiplrad gone up and donations had boen more. The Chairman said that thoy would have to go very carefully, but the outlook was a good one. He moved the adoption of the report. Mr Moore seconded the motion.
Mr Gault said that once they got the pens paid off they could give nearly all the funds in prize-money; the club did not require to pile up money. The President commented on the poor support received from tho country people. Mr Hall took up the cudgels for the country people. Ho said he did not object to coming in to attend meetings, but he did not like having to return at about midnight. The President and Messrs Humphreys, Fraser, and others urged that it was to the interest of the country people to take up the Club’s work heartily.
Mr F. Goodacre, on behalf of the North Island Poultry Association, New Plymouth, wrote as follows: avo, a meeting of representatives of various societies met at New Plymouth, and formed the above Association. Will you kindly reply before the 31st if your Society is willing to join it under rules adopted at that meeting, held on 'February ‘2Bth, 1901 ? Will you please elect a corresponding delegate to arrange for the allotting of trophies, and also forward the annual subscription, as this will assist in deciding what specials can be allotted.” -It : was agreed to write for information. The following officers were elected :

Votes of thanks were tendered to the outgoing officers, and to those who had kindly given donations.
