GOVERNOR’S TOUR.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland last night. The train trip of the Governor and 'Lady Banfurly has been most enjoyable. Lady Ranfurly, who was not very well when she came to Auckland, has benefited much by the change. Two or three very pleasant days were spent at Tarukenga, somo eight miles from Rotorua, in the hills on the railway line. Tarukenga is 1200 feet above the sea level, and the air is remarkably fine and bracing. They return to Auckland this afternoon. The Govornor and Countess had a splendid view of Ruapehu and Ngaurohoo, the latter belching steam and smoke. The Governor was much interested in the railway works south of Poro-o-tarao. He was introduced to the leading natives at Dngarue. He proceeded as far as Taringarnatu, and on the way back to Ongarue found a waggon containing a workman’s family and household goods broken down, rho Governor stopped his conveyance and rendered valuable assistance. He left for Auckland at 10 this morning.
