SERIOUS LANDSLIPS—A HOME. STEAD DESTROYED.

The Star’s Whangaroa correspondent wires: —The'heaviest fall of rain over experienced here occurred yesterday, accompanied by a northerly gale. The rivers are in high flood, and there are landslips in all directions. James Bramley’s homestead at Sares was buried aDd destroyed. The post-office at Totaro North was lifted and moved out of shape. ■ Mr Lane’s residence was flooded, water four feet deep running through and causing serious damage. , Roads and bridges have been damaged in all directions. ; . . • ? The damage is the most - serious that has over occurred here.
