Sir, —In reply to “ Correspondent ” in your issue of Monday last, might I say that in the opinion of a good many, a man “ having a personal interest in a school ” has a far better claim to be elected to servo on a school committee than one who has no children, or having them, considers them too good to attend a public school.—l am, etc., , Outsider. At Normanby last evening a lively meeting of householders to elect a school committee was held. The matter of the recent dismissal and re-in-statement of the headmaster was brought up by reference in the annual report, which asserted that the decision of the Teachers’ Court of appeal was not satisfactory to the Education Board, Committee,' or teachers Mr Clarkson was asked to produce the inspector’s report for the last year but declined to do so, as instructed. The. meeting passed a resolution condem. ning the decision of the Court of Appeal to re-instate Mr Clarkson, and endorsing the action of the Education Board.
