j3y Telegraph —Press Association Palmerston North, last night. The annual meeting of tho A. and P. Association was held yesterday. There a large and representative attendance. MV Batchelor, tho retiring President, in h" address, said that most of tho main “' Mo f revonue had increased, and the expenditure had not grown in anything like the same ratio. The member. Rhhfshowed a slight falling off. He defended the action of the Association in not jakifig up the winter show proposal, on tho grounds of finance, urging that it was not wise to depart from the present safe lines of development until'they were clear of the incubus of debt. On the question of holding a three-days’ show, Mr Batchelor urged its continuance, only requiring stock to be present two. days, tho first day being taken up wlth sheep doK trials and other competitions. As a means of cementing tho interests of Weilinnton and Manawatu, it had been decided to establish a trophy competition of the Show, to be called “ Thq Citizens at Wellington Trophy.” Tho election of Pr ag ident resulted in Mr H. Gillios being elected against Mr R. S. Abraham. Practically the wholo of the old Committee were re elected. During discussion on a throe-days’ show, Mr Wheeler statod that a compromise would probably be arranged with the objecting exhibitors, the new arrangement boing effected by an alteration in the method of judging. Diverse opinions were expressed on tho advisability of a winter show, the general feeling being adverse until the proper buildings are erected. Colonel Gorton suggested an alteration in tho method of judging the jumping competitions, on tho lines adopted at the Dublin Horse Show.
