St. Petersburg, April 23. The Czar, at the instance of IVoyidouoff, Procurator of the General HolySynod, refused to sign a bill to modernise intermediate education and lessen the study of classical languages. M. A annovsky, Minister of Education, thereupon resigned. Yannovsky endeavored consistently to remove grievances, and wean the students from the revolutionary movement. All classes, especially students, regret his resignation.
