AN UNSEEMLY SCENE.
A PROTEST FROM MR WITHEKORD.
(Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, last night. A most unseemly scene arose at the meeting of the Harbor Board this afternoon. Mr Witheford, ’ M.H.R., wished to protest against the sending of Mr Brigham, secretary of the Board to London, and he rose to read a fetter to the Chair as soon as the meeting was opened. He was ruled out of order, but refused to sit down, and a wrangle ensued between Mr Witheford and the rest- of the Board. Mr Witheford eventually bowed to the decision of the Chair, though not until he had been told by the Chairman that if he did not obey the ruling of the Board he would have to be removed front the room. The meeting adopted instructions to the secretary as to his negotiations with the Admiralty;
