The Avondale meeting will be continued to-morrow. The first raco commences at 12.30 p.m. Sixteen horses are engaged in the Maiden Hurdles. The Gisborne horse, Papatu, and Mars read the best. Nursery Handicap: Northumberland. Autumn Handicap: Highlander, Lietitia, and Goetzer.
P'lying : Despatch, Hohoro, and Orange and Blue. Pony : Seaspray or Annoyed. Steeplechase : Evening Wonder or Sultana. Hack : Gatelock or Mechanic. Waitakerei Handicap ; Takapuna or Geologist.

There is every appeaiance of fine weather for the autumn race meeting, which opens to-morrow. There is no straightout betting on the Thompson Handicap, hut popular fancies, coupled with candidates in the Railway Handicap, are Glenaladale aud Halberdier for the former, Red Gauntlet and Windwhistle for the short race.
