Miss Amy Castles’ opening concert was a success. Critics differ in regard to the singer. The Herald congratulates her on the vast progress in her singing. The volume of voice is not so large as it was, but it retains its sweetness, and has gained in evenness and flexibility. Everything makes for advancement. The Daily Telegraph considers the voice has undergone a chaDge, undoubtedly not for the better. It has lost some of its freshness aDd power, and has taken on a somewhat artificial effect. I
