DAIRYMEN FINED.

CASES MEANT AS A WARNING.

By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night,

Three cases, under tho Dairy Industry Act, came before the Police Court to-day, and as none were bad cases, and as the intention was to make the terms of the law more generally known, defendants in each case were let off with a fine of five shillings and costs. The first case was for not cleaning out a byre immediately before milking. Tho defendant cleaned it out morning and night, but not immediately before milking in the morning. The second dairyman was fined for not having tho byre properly floored. The third dairyman was fined for permitting manure to remain within 30 feet of the milk-house, and keeping swine within a distance of 50 yards.
