It is understood that the Eastern Extension Cable Company has expressed its willingness to accept a uniform cable agreement with the Commonwealth for a period of twenty years in exchange for the agreements at present existing between the company and the various States. The company proposes to charge on all cables between the Commonwealth,
India, and China 2s 6d per word on the basis of a uniform terminal rate here of five pence per word.
