CONCERT AT KARAKA.

The concert given at Te Karaka in aid of the school funds was a great success, the room being crowded to the doors. Mr A. M. Lewis presided, and Mr P. Morgan acted as accompanist. After the concert, there was a very enjoyable dance. The gross takings amounted to about £lB, thus showing • how the people of the Karaka extend their support to a good thing. The programme was as follows : Overture, “Gondellide,” Mr Morgan; song, “Love’s Old Sweet Song,” Miss Ingleton: recitation, “Kicking Strap’s Race,” Mr Sefton ; song, “ The Toilers,” Mr Barlow; song, “Angus McDonald,” Miss Faubert; song, “ To-Morrow Will Be Friday,” Mr Teat; recitation, Mr Sheridan; song, Miss Stephenson ; song, “ Geraldine,” Mr A. M. Lewis ; song,. “The Little Hero,” Miss Ingleton ; song, Miss McClure. Part II.: Song, “ Asleepin the Deep,” Mr Teat; song, Miss Ingleton ; recitation, Mr Sheridan; song, MissMcClure; song, Mr Barlow; recitation,. “ Only a New Chum,” Mr Sefton; song' “Always,” Mr Lewis. Miss McClure: kindly supplied the music for the dance.
