Gisborne Rifle Cadets.
The Gisborne Bifle Cadots hold thciir first competition for prizes on Eastrjr Monday at the Kaiti Rifle Range, and considering the Cadets have done very little shooting, some of the scores ir,ade were remarkably good.
The first match was for the money allotted by the Government, which, was divided into ten prizes, and for which there were 42 entries. Conditions: 7 shots at 200yds and 400yds, any position ; one Bighter, not to count in score. The following were the prize-takers, in the order mentioned:—

, The second match was the Company Sealed Handicap, for which there were 40 entries. Number of shots, ranges, and conditions, same as in first match. Kretschmar kindly took charge of the proceedings, and to these gentlemen are due the success of the meeting. Another match is being arranged for, and will take place at an early date.
