TORTURED PEASANTS.
A FIENDISH LANDOWNER, By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright London, April 1. A sensation has been caused at Cairo owing to a rich landowner torturing some peasants to compel confession of the theft of a bull from the Khedival estate. The landowner has been imprisoned. In connection with the case the district Governor is implicated and has been suspended.
