DRAINAGE ENGINEER. By Telegraph—Press Association Dunedin, last night. The Drainage Board to-night decided to appoint as Engineer C. Kussmul, A.M.1.C., of the Metropolitan Board of Works, Melbourne. BEAUTY SLEEP. The D.J.C. Committee to-night had under consideration the matter of the ownership of Beauty Sleep, winner of the Abbotsford Handicap at the last meeting. Barnett and Gates both informed the Secretary that the latter had given the mare to Barnett for 12 months, and had no interest in the winnings. It was decided to award the stakes to G. Smith, owner of Red Banner, which ran second, the Club having no option in tbo matter, as it was one that should have been registered.
