By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, March 20. Iu tho Federal House of Representatives Mr Barton announced that ho had received from tho Imperial Government a communication intimating that another Commonwealth Contingent of two thousand strong would he gratefully accepted. It was, he said, the intention of tho Government to comply with tho request. Mr Barton also announced that ho had been advised by tho Colonial Office that an Order-in-Council had been passed transferring the administration of New Guinea to tho new Governor General. As soon as tho other formal arrangements had been coniploted, tho Federal Government will pass a Bill providing for the administration of New Guinea.
