SIR JOSEPH WARD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Sir. Joseph Ward went to Lyttelton this evening. He journeys to Cheviot to unveil the memorial to the lato Sir John McKenzie. DISTINGUISHED VISITORS.
Sir Francos Paekenham, British Minister of Sweden and Norway, irrived on a visit to the colony by the Warrimoo, accompanied by Lady Paekenham. KICKED TO DEATH. A man named Thomas Shaw, who was kicked in the stomach by a horse in a city ffvery stable on Monday, died at the Hospital to-day. GOVERNMENT APPOINTMENT. Mr Douglas, Chief Engineer of the Pareora, has been appointed Government fnspeetor of Machinery.
