The Freeman’s Journal says that Ministers are afraid to allow the King to see the barbarous methods of the Castle, which have aroused the deep resentment of the people. The Unionist newspaper Ireland blames the blatant disloyalty of the minority representing the real feeling
of the Irish, and Dir Redmond for not repudiating the conduct of a section clinched tlie Ministers’ decision.
Keen disappointment at the decision is fell at Belfast and Cork.
