Band Contest.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. New Plymouth, last night. At the Band Contest the Trombone Trios resulted : Kaikorai, 74, 1; Masterton, 73, 2; Denniston, 71, 3. Seven competed. Quartettes: Wellington No. 2, 78, 1; Kaikorai No. 1, 78, 2 ; Dunedin No. 1, 77, 3. Twenty competed. The E flat solo resulted : G. Hartman ('Waihi), 77.1; G. McDonald (Taranaki), 76,2; W. Pittman (Palmerston North), 75, 3. Ten competed. •B flat solo: B. Holbein (Palmerston North), 79, 1; A. Barker'(Wellington), 6S, 2 ; A. Gunner (Petone), 64, 3. Eleven competed. Later. At the contest to-night tho first test selection was being taken. No results will be available till after midnight. Tho marching competition takes place to. inorrpw.
