WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. At the Wesleyan Conference yesterday the Rev. Mr Martin sent information, stating his inability to visit England in 1902 as previously arranged. -The Rev. Buttle presented tho Foreign Missions report. Satisfaction was expressed at the progress of the work and financial support accorded. The circuit contributions amount to £I2BO. The Rev. Danks (Sydney) was deputed in 1902 to visit the North Island, and also, if possible, the South Island. Failing this, the Mission Board are to arrange for the visit of a return missionary. One minister offers for foreign missions, and two ladies had been sent as missionary sisters.

The report on the local preachers’ examination was referred to the local preachers’ meetings throughout the colony for consideration, and report to the Synod and Conference.

The report on the subject of the Long Mission of Sister Elinor aud Miss Layton showed that there had been successful results, and stated that arrangements had been made for next year’s work.

The balance sheet of the following eonnexional trusts was adopted, viz.: Mission Property, Native Education, Ernslie Theological Endowment, Three Kings College, Probert Trust, Theological Institution, Grey Institute, Kaiwi Mission, and Wellington Educational Trust. It is proposed to erect new buildings at the Three Kings College for the education of native boys, an appeal being made for this object. The amount promised is £631, of which already £519 has been paid. The Rev. Bull, Connexional Secretary, was appointed to receive further contributions.

The Rev. Brook presented the temperance report. It was decided to make a presentment to the Minister of Railways on the necessity of carrying out the regulations relating to persons under the influence of liquor travelling by the railways.

The report ef the Outlook Committee was adopted.

The Rev. Brook was thanked for his service.- editor, and was also re-appointed
