(Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, last night. Business was resumed in representa-
tive session. The Rev. Lewis continued tiie debate on the question of the continuance of the coiiiiexional secretaryship. A large number of speeches were made on both sides of the ques-
tion. The Rev. Garland moved an amendment, requesting the Appointment Committee to inquire how the several offices might be distributed. The voting resulted : for the amendment, 2(1 ; against, 47. For the motion, 80 ; .against G. The motion was declared carried. The debate excited great interest, and was ably conducted. After the luncheon adjournment, business was resumed in ministerial session. The Rev. Frost applied for permission to visit England. After discussion the request was granted. It. was decided that Student Godbetere be sent on circuit work. Further consideration of ministerial supply was. referred to the stationing committee for a report.
In representative session (he appointment- of a successor to Dr f.lorley was the first business. The committee nominated the Revs. Bull, Lee, and Parsonsoir The vote taken resulted ; Parsonson, 3 ; Lee, 26 ; Bull, 71. The latter biiefly and feelingly acknowledged the vote, and expressed regret at leaving Ms present circuit. Appropriations were made from the following funds for the financial support of the secretaryship : Loan fund, £175 ; Contingent, £175 ; Home Mission, £OO ; Connexional Fire Insurance, £3O ; authorised representative office, £lO. It was decided that the removal expenses oi the successor to the Rev Mr Bull to the Grafton road circuit, 'in Auckland, lie charged to the Contintmgent Fund. Consideration of Home Mission af'airs was resumed. I lie balance sheet was adopted, also the estimates of intome and expenditure of the 1002 conference. Discussion of the various regulations regarding the Administration Fund, also the Synod recommendations, occupied attention until the adjournment. The second reading of stations was made the first business for Wednesday morning.
