WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.
(Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, last night. At the afternoon session a resolution was adopted, on the motion of the Rev. Mr Harland, expressing sympathy with the relatives of the members of the Seventh Contingent who lost, their lives in the recent disaster. The motion was carried by silent vote, the members standing. Fraternal greetings were received from the Primitive Methodist Conference, and a suitable acknowledgment was sent. The Conference proceeded to discuss the division and alteration of the boundary of circuits. Requests from the Mahurangi and Paparoa circuits was agreed to, subject to obtaining a home missionary for Port Albert. It was decided that the superintendent minister reside at Feilding instead of S’andon. The request for the appointment of a home missionary for Blenheim circuit, with a suitable grant from tiie Home Mission Fund was, granted. It was agreed to transfer the, power of the High street congregation to Durham street, Christchurch circuit. It was decided to appoint a home missionary at Eltham, with a suitable grant. I-luntly was constituted a home mission station with separate financial arrangements, hut under the supervision of the Hamilton minister. A request from Northern Wairoa for a home missionary was declined. It was decided to 'appoint a probationer for Tauranga, instead of a married minister. It was reported that arrangements iiad been made for periodical visits to Kawhai district. A request for an additional home missionary at New Plymouth was declined. It was decided to appoint a missionary for Pelorus Sound district. Consideration of the appointment of married ministers to varied circuits occupied the Conference until the adjournment.
A grand sacred concert held this evening in Trinity Church was largelyi attended by members of the Conference.
