By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright London, Feb. 25. Lord Kitchener's weekly report states that 20 Boers were killed, 12 wounded, 870 were made prisoners, and 10-1 surrendered. Colonel MacKinley has captured Cornets Stephanus and Grobelaar. Columns between Strydpoortand Botha’s Pass are pushing the Boers towards Harrismith. General Eliots holds tho line along the Wilge river, Colonel Barker supporting him. Commandant Malan, with 200 men, is in Prasenburg district-, and is being driven eastward across the railway. Commandant Smith, with 200 men, is being pursued towards Carnarvon. Another party is south-west- of Carnarvon. The latest sweep is in the Harrismith district, 05 miles wide. London, Fob. 20. Colonel Mackenzie surprised Hans at Grobelaar’s laager. Hans fled, but Stephanus, Grobelaar, Sehalk, and Moyer, influential Boers, were captured. TREMENDOUS COST OF THE WAB
NEARLY 150 MILLIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Feb. 26. Lord Stanley stated that the cost of the war up to December was one hundred and thirty-ono millions eighty-one thousand pounds, while the estimate to the enl of March was fifteen millions additional. Mr Brodrick stated that the National Scouts receive five shillings per day. No pressure was used to induce them to enlist.
