KING'S OATH.
THE PETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Feb. 26. A petition from Victoria against altering the King’s oath was read in the House of Commons, and laid on the table. Mr Mellor also presented other similar Australian petitions. The British petitions on the same subject were : England, 284,647 signatures; Scotland, 09,197; Ireland, 16,949; Wales, 8,670; Channel Islands, 2,369. 1
