CHARITABLE AID. . '(Per Press Association;) - WELLINGTON, last night, The estimates of the Wellington Charitable Aid Board for the current year amount to £839.9, of which £3192 will be levied from local bodies •or the conduct of the Wellington hospital. The trustees require £12,G00. A CLEAN UP, The City Council has appointed four additional inspectors to assist in the work of cleaning the city. Where opposition is shown by householders to the advice of these officers, action will je taken by the Council. FOUND DROWNED. The body of Albert Schnarnd, the hulk-keeper who was drowned, with a companion named Doris, in the harbor ,an the 14th Inst., was recovered today. At the inquest a verdict of ■-‘Found Drowned” was returned. Doris and deceased put out in a dingy to hoist the riding light on the Ara.watta and Southern Cross. The weather was very squally, and the boat probably capsized while going from one vessel to the other, as no lights appeared on the latter vessel that night.
