FATAL ACCIDENT.

BOY KILLED IN FRONT OF HIS FATHER.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Napier, last night,

A fatal trap accident occurred at Pakowhai this afternoon, by which a lad named John Mundcll, aged seven years, son of Mr Adam Mundell, livery stable keeper, of Hastings, lost his life. The boy, with his father, two sisters, and a man named Stack, had been on a blaekberrying expedition, and they were driving homo. When near the Pakowhai bridge the horse jibbed, and all the occupants of the trap alighted, Stack catching hold of the horse’s head. The horse pulled back, and in doing so jambed the hoy against the fence. Mr Mundell picked the boy lip, but after a few gasps he expired in his father’s arms. The horse i 3 a very quiet animal, but is known as a bad jibber. Much sympathy is felt for the parents of the unfortunate lad.
