CAUSED BY THE CAPTAIN’S NEGLIGENCE.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Brisbane, Feb. 21. The Court of Enquiry into tbe wreck of the Prosperity found that it was due to negligence of Captain Peterson in not ascertaining the error in the compasses, in view of the nature of cargo of machinery. The Court recommended tbe suppression of the captain's certificate for one month. The finding will be submitted to the Marine Board for adoption.
