BOY DROWNED.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, last night-. A boy named YVillie Crotty fell into the Oparua River at Kawhia a few yards from his parents’ house, and was drowned. The body was subsequently recovered.

SIR JOSEPH WARD.

Sir Joseph Ward loft for the Thames this afternoon. If possible he will go on to Waihi to-night, and return to-morrow evening to Te Aroha, where he will remain until Monday, and then return to town.

FIJI MATTERS.

Mr Humphrey Berkley left for Wellington this afternoon in order to meet Mr Seddon, and discuss matters connected with affairs in Fiji. Mr Berkley goes at Mr Seddon’s invitation.
