WAERENGA-A-HIKA STOCK SALE
There was a large attendance of buyers at the monthly stock sales held at Waerenga-a-hika yesterday by Messrs Wyllie and Mason and Common, Shelton and Co. Competition was fairly keen for the lots offered, and ihc juices realised were upon the whole extremely satisfactory. Messrs Wyllie and Mason had a big yarding of heifers from Hawke’s Bay, and all the lots offered were quitted at good figures. Eighteen month old heifers sold from At to £4 10s, the latter price being paid for the best lines. Eighteen months to two and a half year old heifers realised from £4 5s "to £5. Several lots of young steers also sold well. Mr Jefferson, of Nuliaka. was a large jiurcliaser at the sale, buying upwards of one hundred head. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. report that they held their monthlysale at Waerenga-a-liika yesterday. There was a good attendance, and bidding was brisk throughout. Two and a half year old steers sold at £4 10s, eight months old steers at £2 10s, and small weaners at £1 18s. Almost every line was cleared at satisfactory figures. mounts by last Saturday’s steamer, Mr Campbell Thompson informs us that lie received no instructions to ship the horses by last week’s boat, neither did he send a telegram stating that the . horses were on board the Elingamite.
