By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Loudon, Feb. 16. Hemp is in strong demand. Fair Wellington January-February shipment is at 38£; April-June shipment, 36i. Frozen meat: Mutton and lamb of all sorts are unchanged. Beef has declined one-eighth. Silver is at 2s 17-16 d. Copper, three months, is at 54£. Tin, spot, 114 J; three months, 109}-. The lead imports last month wore 22,846 tons, including 7917 Australian. The exports were 2988 tons. Wellington, last night. The Agent-General’s cablegram, dated London, 15tb, states :—“ No alteration in the mutton market since last week. The average price to-day of Canterbury lamb is sid, market weak; Australian lamb in large supply. No alteration in beef. Stocks of New Zealand on hand are light. Butter is at Ills, market very firm. No alteration in the cheese market. Hemp is firm ; good fair Wellington brings £3O, June to August shipments £35. Cocksfoot is steady ; New Zealand, 171 b standard, 40s per cwt.”
