THE TRIESTE STRIKE.
STRIKERS DEMAND EIGHT HOURS A DAY.
By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Vienna, Feb. 17. The Trieste strike originated through the stokers employed by the Austrian Lloyds Company demanding eight hours per day. The demand has since been conceded. Anarchists fomonted disorder, and twenty-one were killed, including some women. A hundred and fifty were wounded when the military fired. A hundred arrests have been made. The Government declares the movement revolutionary, and threatens to proclaim martial law if the disorder is renewed.
