PERSONAL.
Captain Chrisp, who for many years has been President of the Poverty Bay Club, has declined re-election, on the grounds of his frequent absence from the district. Mr James Macfarlane was elected to the position, Mr A. F. Kennedy being appointed to the position of VicePresident. Mr R. H. Mason was elected honorary secretary in place of Mr Grant, and Mr Symes honorary treasurer. Mr R. It. Fisher, the well-known representative of Messrs Nelson, Moate. and Co. and other New Zealand firms, is at present visiting Gisborne, tie leaves for South on Wednesday. Messrs Gamble and Jacobie, who represent the Auckland firms of Messrs A. H. Nathan and Co. and Burns and Co. respectively, arrived from the Coast last evening, having left the Omapere at Awanui, and journeying overland. Mr W. Dobson, of Tolago Bay, is at present visiting Gisborne.
