(Per Press Association.)

NEW PLYMOUTH, last night.

An elderly lady named Mrs Newell, about 67 years of age, was found dead at the bottom of a cliff on the Wa'iwakaiho river this morning, about a mile and a halt from town. Deceased had been missing since Wednesday, but as .she was eccentric and given to wandering about, no anxiety was felt for a day or two, the family thinking she might have gone to friends. Two sons found her to-day. She had evidently falieu over the cliff, which is about -10 feet high, and she must have been theie since Wednesday night or Thursday, as the body was in a partly decomposed state. An inquest will probably be held to-morrow.
