HORSE SALE.
The horse sale held at Waerenga-a-hika yesterday by Messrs Wyllie and Mason and Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. was largely attended, and good business resulted. From 150 to 200 horses were offered, and in most eases the animals were of a good class. On account of the rivers being in flood in parts of the district several lines did not come to hand, but the entries were sufficiently largo to occupy the greater part of the day. lhe pr '® e R b reached ranged from £2 10s U P t 0 f and a number of good hacks were offered. Mr K. Campbell, the well-known dealer, was one of the largest buyers, He secured a good mob, including some of the best that were offered, at prices satisfactory to both buyer and seller. Amongst the iota sold by Messrs Wyllie and Mason was Mr Dinan’s three-horse team, with harness and dray, the purchaser being min Hird, and the price, paid £llO. lhe sale started at eleven o clock, and there was a break in the proceedings for dinner a splendid meal being provided by the popular host of the Waerenga-a-hika Hotel, Mr C. O’Connell, who was most attentive to the wants of his visitors.
