FATALITY AT TAURANGA.
two native girls drowned [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night. At Tauranga on Monday afternoon two young Maori girls, who went out fishing in a canoe from Motokana Island, got blown away in a sudden north-west squall. To-day the police received news that the body of one of the girls, about eight years of age, had been found on the beach. She was the daughter of a well-known Native named Jacobs, who resides at Matipihi, The canoe has not yet been found.
