GONGREGATIONAL UNION.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE,

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. The annual meeting of the Council of the Congregational Union opened to-day. . In taking leave of the Council Mr Glasson expressed a hope that Congregationalists wo;ld realise more and more the sense of brotherhood, and that they would sink minor differences where possible, in the interests of the Union. „ . , The Rev. J. Sargisson, of Lmwood, Christchurch, then took the chair as President of the Council for the current year. Leith street Church (Dunedin) and the Palmerston North Church were admitted to the Council. The following ministers were admitted to the Council for the first time Rev. J. Wilkir.s, Beresford street ; G. H. Barrett, Newton ; A. G. Lee, Devonport; and G. G. Carr, Raglan. The Rev. VV. Newman Hall is expected to arrive from England via Australia. Mr Hall takes charge of Courtenay Place Church, Wellington.
