THE ARMY MEAT CONTRACTS.
A WESTPORT RESOLUTION. [BT TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Westport, last night. At a special meeting of the Westport Chamber of Commerce, the following resolution, moved by the President, Mr Rayfield, was unanimously carried : “ This Chamber endorses the action of tbe Premier in his protest to the War Office against their exclusion of giving part of the army meat contract to New Zealand, and further resolves that the right hon. gentleman be thanked for his prompt action in not only looking after the interests of the colony, but in giving prominence to the opportunity of adding to the solidarity of the Empire in the matter of commerce.”
