The Netherlands Government admit that the Dutch Red Cross Ambulance now interned at Ceylon abused neutrality by carrying commandants’ letters. Two Yeomanry assert that the Boers in December captured a small convoy at I hillopopolis, and murdered eight native drivers, tying several to the wheels and burning them alive.
A sharp fight occurred at Trenfontein on the 2Lt, when seven men were killed and 26 wounded, chiefly Yeomanry. A \ igilance Committee at the Cape has strongly protested against an amnesty being granted to rebels. Commandant Beyers on tho 22nd seized the concentration camp at Petersburg, and carried oil a largo number of surrenderers. He afterwards attacked Petersburg, but was repulsed, losing six men. London, Jan. 27. Lord Kitchener reports that General Ben A iljoen has been captured in tho neighborhood of Lyndenburg, which doubtless will have a considerable effect on the Boers northwards of the railway. Colonels liawlinsoti and Keif, during a night march from Tafelkop to Allenkopje, captured thirty Boers belonging to Strydon’s commando.
The National Scouts, southwards of Grootolofaut station, on a night march, captured eleven Boers, including Commandant Hans Botha.
Colonel Wilson, on Friday night, captured Commandant Strydon and twenty men at a farm at Frankford. A strong force at Town attacked Colonel Wilson, enabling most of tho prisoners to escapo. The Boers were repulsed with ten killed. Wilson’s casualties were eight, Genoral Hamilton captured twoivo Boers at Bosehuarcsfontein.
Corporal Dupriez and thirteen men have surrendered.
Ireno Piet Bezuidentaz, Landrost of Heilbron, and Commandant Mont* havo been captured in tho Orange Colony. Tho surrenders included Field-Cornet Boks. DEATH OF PRIVATE COLLINS.
