YACHTING IN WELLINGTON.
VICTORY FOR THE lORANGI,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. Three events on the programme of the Port Nicholson Yacht Cluh's Anniversary Regatta were sailed on Saturday afternoon. There was a whole-sail north to north-west breeze, which was a little flukey off Korokoro and Te Aro. The water was almost smooth. The rating race for first-class yachts was taken part in by Waitangi, Rainbow, and lorangi, and they got away in that order at about 2hr SOmin, within 22sec of each other. The finishing times were : lorangi, 4hr olrnin; Waitangi, 4hr 53min 15sec ; Rainbow, 4hr 58min 53sec. The time allowance did not alter the positions of the boats, and they were placed as they finished. In the race for second-class yachts there were five competitors. Siren crossed the finishing line one second ahead of Mahina, but the latter gained first prize with lmin 25sec to spare on her time allowance. The handicap race for thirdclass yachts was won by Karaka, with Mahuta second.
