ROWING.
On the Taruheru river last night the final heats of tho first round of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club’s double-sculling handicap were rowed off as follows : —J. Pool and C. Boyle (3sccs) beat J. Smith and Arch. Pool (lOsec) by e. length and a-half. H. Taylor and A. Pritchard (3sec) beat A. Kirk and W. Lewis (16seo) by a length. Three heats of the second round will be rowed this evening.
