HARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING.
An accident, which might have been attended with fatal results, occurred at the wharf last evening. A young woman named Ada Hausen, who was walking along the wharf in company with a man named Martin Casey, overbalanced and fell over the edge of the wharf. Casey raised an alarm, his cries quickly bringing a party of rescuers to the scene. A young man named Sydney Humphreys and one of the bluejackets of H.M.S. Penguin quickly put off in a boat and succeeded in pulling the young lady aboard. Efforts to restore animation were, after some time, successful, Miss Hansen having been rescued as she was sinking the third time. Tho young lady was taken to her homo, and is doing as well as can bo expected. The rescuers are to be commended for their expedition in putting off to the rescue, for had any time been lost there is no doubt but that the young lady would have lost her life.
