PROHIBITION CAMPAIGN.
A MONSTER MEETING. Thk Theatre Royal was crowded to the doors last night, many being unable to gain admission. The chair was occupied by Mr John Sovorvell, who for many years past has been a prominent temperance advocate. A spirited prohibition address was made by the Rev. F. W. Isitt. That gentleman made a powerful appeal to the audience to do their best to carry prohibition at the forthcoming test. He said that in some hotels were now to be seen placards advising people to vote for water, aDd he urged that next December they should all take that advice. It was announced that the campaign now opened would be kept going until the taking of the poll, and it was stated that numerous speakers, including Mrs Harrison Lee, would visit Gisborne and address meetings.
Mr Isitt is to address another meeting at Gisborne to-night, and then he proceeds to Wairoa, giving an address at Morere on Tuesday night.
