EIGHTH CONTINGENT.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. The date of departure of the North I Island battalion of the Eighth Contingent from Wellington has been fixed for 5 p.m. on Saturday, 2oth, at which hour the troopship Surrey sails for Auckland, Lieutenant Harris, of Auckland, who received a commission in the Eighth Contingent, has resigned, being reported medically unfit for service.
