Auckland Loan.

Auckland, la3fc night,

Tenders for the Auckland City Loan of .£45,000 wero opened to night. There were sixteen tenders, ranging from £IOO to £25,000, the total amount of tenders being .£'49,000, of which X'2ooo wus ut a premium of .61 per cent., .£3OOO at a premium of 15s per cent., j£soo at a premium of 2s 6d per cent, and the balance, X'44,100, at par. The tender of .£25,000 was from the Auckland Savings Bank, the remainder being private tenders in I sums to X3OOO. It was decided to leave tho matter of acceptance in the hands of I the Mayor and Chairman of the Finance Committee. The Mayor stated that about April next the Council would be calling for another .£IO,OOO, being tho third instalment of tho last .£IOO,OOO loan.
