WOOL SALES.
HEALTHY MARKET AT INVERCARGILL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, last night. At the first wool sale of the season today 3077 bales were offered, being about one-third of the usual offerings at this sale, the cause being the continuous wet weather. For fine lustrous crossbreds there was keen competition, and prices were above the present London quotations. Coarse crossbred met with good enquiry at equi-. valent to London values, and the bulk was sold. Prices ranged : Half and fine crossbred, 54d to Of d ; good crossbred, 4d to 5d ; ordinary, coarse do., 3d to 4d ; bellies, 2d to 2|d. Merinos brought up to 7d, and, generally speaking, sellers got a little more than anticipated.
