Callaway, 24, and Lawrence continued the Canterbury second innings, which stood at 116 for seven wickets. The pair made a good stand, but at 102 Callaway was dismissed after a good innings. Garrard helped Lawrence to add [another 20, but tho last wicket fell at 1813, Otago winning by 12'2 runs. The scores of Canterbury's second innings continued wero : Callaway, c Wilkie, b Downes, 46 ; Lawrence, c Williams, b Downes, 16; Garrard, not out, 9 ; Boxshall, c Baker, b Monk, 0 ; extras, 16; total, 186. Bowling: Downes 3 wickets for 78 runs, Monk 2 wickets for 25 runs, Fisher 5 wickets for 67 runs. Aftor the match tho Handle’s Bay representatives, ,vho arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, batted for an hour, the combined team taking the field against them. Albeit Trott delighted the spectators with somo hard hitting.
